You’ve found us!
And now we’d like to invite you to come on out and get involved
in Youth Ministry here at St. Andrew’s! This ministry is geared towards
all young people in Grade 6 to University—
So we know it’s a place for YOU!
Check out just a few things that are going on right now:
YOUTH CLASS
Join us every Sunday morning during the 10:30am service for
interactive bible studies and fun. This is a safe place to discuss
with one another and raise some of those tricky questions
we all have about God, the Bible and our world.
Everyone in Grade 6 and up is encouraged to attend.
We meet up in the Youth Room (Room 6) before service begins.
TRANSFORMATION FRIDAYS
Romans 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this world,
but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that you may prove what is that good
and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Join us every Friday night for an amazing evening of food, lessons and games.
We are currently running the Friendship First program,
which includes dinner every evening.
This program will continue to run until
December 19th, 2008 (Our last youth night of 2008).
In 2008 our evenings start at 6:00 pm and
starting in 2009 we will be meeting at 6:30 pm.
We will not be meeting during the
Christmas holidays (Dec. 22, 2008 to Jan. 4, 2009)
CONFIRMATION 2009
Looking ahead to the New Year, we will be continuing with our Passport to Faith Confirmation program. Those youth who would like to be confirmed in June of this year and become members of St. Andrew’s need to inform Matt of their intention in order to participate in this program.
Confirmation/ Cathecism classes are set to begin in February and will run for approximately 6 weeks. You must attend all of these scheduled classes
YOUTH MINISTRY TAKES GUELPH BY STORM
 |
We, in youth ministry, are excited to offer our youth the opportunity to check out the Guelph Storm live at the Sleeman Centre throughout the 2008-2009 season.
We will be making available regular tickets on December 30th, 2008 to go and see the Storm take on John Tavares (Potential #1 NHL Draft Pick in 09) and the Oshawa Generals. We will meet at the church at 6:00 pm to have pizza before attending the game.
The cost of this event is $20 which includes your game ticket and the pizza dinner. |
Y
outh ministry also has also won the City of Guelph’s Luxury Suite for a game against the London Knights on Family Day (Mon. February 16 @ 2:00 pm).
More information on this game in the new year.
CHRISTMAS OUTREACH BAGS
The youth have hooked up with the St. Andrew’s Outreach Committee to help those less forunate at Christmas time. The youth will be helping to create gift bags for men and women in our community through the Chalmers Community Services Centre.
For a complete list of the items needed for donation,
please contact the Church office 519.822.4772.
It is our goal to donate 5 bags to this cause.
Completed bags and collected goods must be submitted by
Sunday, December 7th to the Youth Room.
YOUTH MINISTRY WELCOMES NEW VOLUNTEERS
Youth ministry is excited to welcome Cindy Bray, Brittany Jerse and Andrew D’Aoust who have generously volunteered their time to help out with the youth on Friday nights. If you’d still like to come and help out on any of our Friday night functions please speak to Matt Foxall. We are always looking for more help. Without volunteers Youth Ministry could not be possible.

GENERAL NOTES
Youth ministry always has and always will be an ALL-INCLUSIVE ministry. It is never meant to exclude anyone due to financial constraints. If you are unable to afford the cost of an event please speak with Matt and we will make the necessary arrangements so no one misses out on these wonderful opportunities.
Anyone wishing to make a financial contribution to assist with those who may not be able to afford our youth events please speak to Matt as well.
Together we can all make a positive influence on the lives of our youth and help keep them connected with Christ.
